Speaking of gardens…

October 16, 2008

We received a letter today from the Emanuel Children’s Hospital Foundation today. Before we left Portland we donated some money for the hospital’s garden. Now, in the garden where Teddy took his last breaths, near one of the walkways, is a brick that reads:

Theodore Isaac,
Our Huckleberry

They sent us a map of the garden with an X marking the location of Teddy’s brick, which was very kind of them. We’ll be back some day. Some day when we can stand it we’ll make our pilgrimage to Portland and walk in that garden again and read our son’s name.

We love you so, little Huckleberry.

  1. That’s so lovely. What a nice way to remember Teddy.

We have a little garden we planted for our baby, and I love seeing the flowers bloom.
